Overcast Sky Raven

Some days
The world is a rainbow
Of happy colours
But, not today
When everything
Was painted
In the dullest beige
Of mediocrity
And framed
In the bleakest grey
Of the mundane
One of those hazy days
Thick with humidity
And fraught with idleness
Spent half alive, just
Going through the motions
Of what is necessary
A boring day, and yet
A definite improvement
Over the heavy rain
And black clouds
Of yesterday morning
The stormier weather
Having passed by
Uneventfully, and
As for tomorrow
They’re calling
Once again
For clear skies
And endless sunshine
